THESE MINUTES ARE SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY BOARD OF SELECTMEN
The Board of Selectmen held a special meeting on Friday, August 28, 2009 in the Mary Hawley Room, Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street, Newtown. First Selectman Borst called the meeting to order at 9:30 am.
PRESENT: First Selectman Joseph E. Borst, Selectman Paul Mangiafico, Selectman Herbert Rosenthal.
VOTER PARTICIPATION: none.
OLD BUSINESS;
Discussion and possible action:
Tick Borne Diseases Action Committee: The charge for the Ad Hoc Tick Borne Diseases Action Committee was discussed. Selectman Rosenthal moved that Task #3 be revised to add the following task: “Gather and review documentation for the limits and extent of deer impact to Newtown’s public safety, natural resources and economic growth.” Selectman Mangiafico seconded. All in favor.
Selectman Mangiafico moved that the Tick Borne Diseases Action Committee will address the charge and related issues with an anticipated completion date within (6) six months and present status and progress in (3) months to the Board of Selectmen. Seconded by Selectman Rosenthal. All in favor.
Selectman Rosenthal moved to enter executive session for the purpose of reviewing and discussing applications from citizens interested in serving on the Tick Borne Diseases Action Committee. Seconded by Selectman Mangiafico. All in favor. The meeting entered executive session at 9:52am and returned to regular session at 10:42am with the following motion:
