The Board of Selectman held a Special Meeting on Wednesday June 11, 2008 at 8:30a.m. in the Mary Hawley Room at the Edmond Town Hall located at 45 Main Street Newtown, CT.
First Selectman Borst called the meeting to order at 8:30a.m.
PRESENT: First Selectman Joseph Borst, Selectman Paul Mangiafico, Selectman Herb Rosenthal.
DISCUSSION ITEM:
1. To set the date for a Special Town Meeting
The Board discussed the date and time to set the Special Town Meeting.
Selectman Rosenthal stated that the earliest the Special Town Meeting can be held is June 18 due to the requirements for public notification of five business days prior to the meeting. The Selectman agreed that June 18th would be a good date given that earlier in the week graduation ceremonies are scheduled as well as prior engagements the Selectman have scheduled as well.
Selectman Rosenthal moved that a Special Town Meeting be held in the Meeting Room of the C.H. Booth Library on Wednesday June 18th, 2008 at 7:00 o’clock P.M. (E.D.T.), to receive a communication from the Board of Selectman with respect to the resolution entitled “Resolution Appropriating $3,150,000 For Various Public Improvements And Authorizing The Issuance Of $3,150,000 Bonds of the Town to Meet Said Appropriation And Pending the Issuance Thereof The Making Of Temporary Borrowings For Such Purpose”, and to consider and act upon the Resolution. Selectman Mangiafico seconded motion. All were in favor.
ADJOURNMENT:
Selectman Rosenthal moved to adjourn the Special Meeting to set the date and time for the Special Town Meeting at 8:55a.m. Selectman Mangiafico seconded motion. All were in favor.
