The Board of Selectmen held a special meeting on Thursday, May 25, 2007 in the Mary Hawley Room, Edmond Town Hall, Newtown, CT. First Selectman Herbert C. Rosenthal called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m.
PRESENT: First Selectman Herbert C. Rosenthal, Selectman Joseph Bojnowski, Selectman William Brimmer
VOTER PARTICIPATION: None present
Discussion and Possible Action on Setting Date for Budget Vote
Selectman Brimmer moved to hold a Town Meeting to discuss the 2007/2008 Budget, as recommended by the Legislative Council in the amount of $99,878,877 on Monday, June June 4, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the meeting room at the C. H. Booth Library, Main Street, Newtown, CT. Motion seconded and unanimously carried.
Selectman Bojnowski moved, as per Section 7-7 of the Connecticut General Statutes, to remove the action on the budget from the call of the Town Meeting and send it directly to a Referendum to be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at the Newtown Middle School, Queen Street, Newtown, CT from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Motion seconded and unanimously carried.
Having no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:10 p.m.
