The Board of Selectmen held a special meeting on Thursday, January 31, 2002 in the Old Courtroom, Edmond Town Hall, Main Street, Newtown, CT. First Selectman Rosenthal called the meeting to order at 4:10 PM

Hiring of Firm to Prepare Fairfield Hills Master Plan
Seven responses had been received to the Request for Proposals and Qualifications. Of those, four firms were interviewed on January 7 and January 8, 2002. From those interviews, further questions were raised and forwarded, in writing, to the firms. Their written responses have been received and reviewed by those present.
Ms. Stocker called Mr. Richard Harrall for one clarification, regarding Smith Group JJR and why HMA chose them for this project. Smith Group is currently working with HMA and Milone & MacBroom on a major project in Waterbury for the Naugatuck Valley Development Group. Ms. Stocker called the reference given for this project. She also called many of the references given by each group interviewed and all were very positive.
After some discussion, Mr. Brimmer moved to hire the firm of Harrall-Michalowski Associates to prepare the Fairfield Hills Master Plan. Motion seconded and unanimously carried.
Appointments
Selectman Bojnowski moved to put appointments on next agenda. Motion seconded and unanmously carried.
Having no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:00 PM.
