BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS
MINUTES
SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN OF NEWTOWN BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS HELD ON SEPTEMBER 25TH, 2007
At 5: 30 P. M., the meeting was called to order by Chair Person Carol Mattegat. Also present were Commissioners Gerald Finnegan, Duane Giannini and Brian Budd. Also present was Chief Kehoe and Captain Rios.
At 5:35 P.M., Commissioner Finnegan made a motion to go into executive session for the purpose of interviewing Probationary Police Officer Candidates and review of their background files. Chief Kehoe and Captain Rios were invited in. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Giannini and carried unanimously.
At 7: 45 P.M., the Commission came out of out of executive session.
At 7: 50 P.M., Commissioner Finnegan made a motion to establish a hiring rank order for Newtown Probationary Police Officer(s). Commissioner Giannini seconded the motion.
Motion was carried by 3-1 vote with Commissioner Budd dissenting.

At 7: 55 P.M., Commissioner Finnegan made a motion to extend a firm offer of employment based upon successfully passing all testing requirements to:

· David Donahoe
· William Chapman
Motion seconded by Commissioner Finnegan and carried unanimously.
At 8: 00 P.M., Commissioner Finnegan made a motion to extend a conditional offer of employment to Probationary Police Officer Candidates:
· Devin Quintard
· Matthew Hayes
· Walter Lucia
· Michelle DeCocco
· Tim Schoen
· Anthony Palaisani
Motion was seconded by Commissioner Giannini and carried by unanimous vote.
At 8: 05 P.M., Commissioner Finnegan made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Commissioner Giannini and carried by unanimous vote.
