Chairman report
Invited to and made a presentation to the Newtown Woman’s Club on the
activities of the Committee. Was well received.
Spoke with Rob Sibley regarding using the GPS to map trails. At this time
there no resources to process any trails that are mapped and the GPS devices can
not be taken out without a town employee being present.
Pole Bridge is being surveyed, look for a corrected map to be produced, along
with boundary markers. Significantly different than the trails that were already
there.
Point ‘O Rocks parcel should be one of the committee’s short term objectives.
Rob does not have any of the NBLA maps.
Parks & Recreation Director report -
Not present for the meeting
Newtown Conservation Committee report -
- Mary noted that:
o The Pole Bridge property is being featured at Earth Day
o Another parcel behind Dickinson Park is also being focused on
for improvements
Old Business
Robert Macey noted that the rail trail being flooded may be due to a clogged
culvert.
