MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE NEWTOWN PARKS AND RECREATION’S
DOG PARK SUBCOMMITTEE

Subcommittee Members: Kathryn Simonds, Cat Fedorcheck, Benay Yaffe, Ruth Hutchinson, Missy Robinson, Kim Jaeckel, Monica Roberto
  • Total funds raised to date = $8,383.45. Blue Z raised $85 and volunteers collected $37 from the 4H Canine Festival.
  • Labor Day Parade: Monday September 6, 2010.  Benay to submit Dog Park application by due date of July 25th. RoseAnn to organize float and dog/trainer to ride on float.  Volunteers to decorate float with a dog park theme.  Volunteers to walk behind float with dogs. Give aways at parade will be dog bone treats with dog park postcard affixed to it to drive people to dog park website.
  • Postcards: Final draft to be circulated by Kim Jaeckel. Drop date: late August. Goal is to drive people to Park and Bark website. RoseAnn currently getting estimates for printing, fulfillment and postage.  List will be mailed to registered dog owners in Newtown. An additional 500 will be printed for hand out at events and to leave at local businesses.
  • Concert in the Park BBQ, August 19th. Volunteers to set up food and beverage stand. Cat Fedorcheck and RoseAnn to coordinate purchase and storage of food.
  • Website volunteers to meet separately to discuss using web to drive donations
