Administrative
·       Spatial analysis for service needs is attached. Nor sure which subcommittee this should be assigned to as there is not currently an active facilities committee. Numbers from 2006 study and my update.
·       The Volunteer Center of Western Connecticut has asked me to be part of the Advisory Team for the new Western Connecticut Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC).
·       Received a $2,000 check from the Lion’s Club today.

·       Jenn is still on maternity leave and another employee has been granted family leave. We are stretched really thin. Joan, Sheila and Jessi have been particularly supportive and helping fill in the gaps.
·       Participated in a Roundtable event in Danbury with State Representatives Bob Godfrey (D-Danbury), Joe Taborsak (D-Danbury), and Christopher Lyddy (D-Newtown) and Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz.

·       Dr. Edward Lulo is covering for Dr. Ovanessian while Dr. O is on leave. Looking for a board-certified Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to cover additional hours.

Positive Asset Development
·       Thank you to those who helped out with Independent Living Day (yesterday). It was a beautiful day and the seniors were very appreciative.
·       Working with suzysaid.com to get information about NYFS programs to Newtown residents.
·       Talent Show will be held on Friday May 22nd at
·       Crisis intervention workshop with NYFS hosted with Newtown High School was very successful and brought teachers and guidance counselors from many schools in the area.
·       With Nicole and Tina graduating this year we are looking for a High School sophomore to run the job bank for their junior and senior years.
·       Working from her personal experience as a mother of a child with Learning Disabilities, Newtown mother Suzanne Lang is starting a monthly LD Support Group to be held at NYFS on the second Thursday of every month from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. This group is for parents of children with learning disabilities. The focus will be on assisting parents in finding the resources that they need to help their children become successful.
