Employee Safety Committee
January 8th, 2014
Newtown Municipal Center
In attendance: Carole Ross, Chairman, Rob Sibley, and Linda O’Masta of Rose and Kiernan.
Mrs. Ross opened the meeting at 10:03am.
Review of injury reports: A review of the injury reports took place with only 3 reported in the 4th quarter. This was exceptional. There was a shoulder strain, fluid exposure and a dog bite. None of which were serious in nature.
Training: At this present time the new OSHA Hazmat training is being conducted in the Council Chambers involving the Public Works Department, the Parks and Recreation Department and Maintenance. Dr. Aaron Coopersmith will conduct a seminar tentatively scheduled for March and the topic will be shoulder and back care.
Building Inspections: Mr. Sibley and Mrs. O’Masta conducted a safety inspection of the Municipal Center. (see attached) Mrs. Ross will see to it that all issues are resolved.
The next meeting will be held on April 2nd, 2014.
Meeting adjourned at 10:20 am with the inspection to follow.
