ALSO PRESENT: Joseph Centofanti and Kristen Brown of Kostin, Ruffkess (Auditors)
Chairman Spragg called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm.
Public Participation – None noted
Acceptance of Minutes – Upon motion by Mr. LaRocque, the minutes of the 1/5/10 meeting were unanimously accepted as presented.
Audit Report - Ms. Andras moved to recommend to the full Council the acceptance of the Audit Report for FY ending 6/30/09. Motion seconded and discussed.
Finance Committee members each received hard copies of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and the Federal and State Single Audit for the Town. Mr. Centofanti explained that this is an audit of federal money and state money expended by the Town, to ensure compliance. The opinion of the auditors is that there are no problems.
MOTION UNANIMOUSLY CARRIED.
Mr. Fitzgerald moved to recommend the appointment of Kostin, Ruffkuss to audit the town finances for the year ending June 30, 2010 for a fee of $63,250 plus an allowance of up to $3,000 for any additional work required due to stimulus grants. Motion seconded and unanimously carried.
Budget Amendment
Mr. Davis moved to recommend to the full Council the budget amendment in the amount of $805,979 as presented by Finance Director Robert Tait. Motion seconded and unanimously carried.
Public Participation – None noted
Announcements – Mr. Spragg advised that this subcommittee will meet on April 6 to review the budget. Subcommittee chairs must have recommendations in by March 30.
