Town of Newtown Legislative Council Charter Charge Committee Meeting

PRESENT: Jeff Capeci, George Ferguson, Kathy Fetchick, Daniel Honan, George Ferguson,
ALSO PRESENT: First Selectman Pat Llodra, Joseph Girgasky, Paul Lundquist, Bob Merola, Phillip Carroll, Dan Wiedemann
Legislative Council Chairman Capeci called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. He then distributed the draft charge and state statutes regulating the charter revision process (see attachments).
NEW BUSINESS
ELECTION OF A CHAIRMAN: Mr. Capeci called for nominations for committee chairman. Mr. Ferguson nominated Mr. Wiedemann. The nomination was seconded by Mr. Honan. Hearing no other nominations, Mr. Capeci closed nominations, all in favor.
FUTURE MEETING SCHEDULE - Mr. Wiedemann asked the availability of committee members this week to meet to work on a charge. The Committee agreed to meet Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 7:30pm at place to be determined.
Having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
