Town of Newtown Legislative Council Charter Appointment Committee Meeting

PRESENT: Jeff Capeci, Phillip Carroll, Paul Lundquist, Bob Merola
NOT PRESENT: Mary Ann Jacob
ALSO PRESENT: George Ferguson, Kathy Fetchick, Joseph Girgasky, Daniel Honan, George Ferguson, Dan Wiedemann
Legislative Council Chairman Capeci called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m. He then distributed the draft charge and state statutes regulating the charter revision process (see attachments).
NEW BUSINESS
ELECTION OF A CHAIRMAN: Mr. Capeci called for nominations for committee chairman. Mr. Merola nominated Mr. Lundquist. The nomination was seconded by Mr. Carroll. Hearing no other nominations, Mr. Capeci closed nominations, all in favor.
FUTURE MEETING SCHEDULE - Mr. Lundquist asked the availability of committee members to meet with the intention of placing a candidate advertisement in The Bee this week. The Committee agreed to meet Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 7:00pm at place to be determined.
Having no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
