AQUIFER PROTECTION AGENCY
MINUTES
Regular Meeting of October 10, 2012 at 7:30 pm

Commissioners Present:  Ed Bryan, Mary Curran, Kristen Hammar, Anne Peters, Katja Pieragostini,
and Sharon Salling Staff Present:  Rob Sibley, Deputy Director of Planning and Land Use and
Tammy Hazen, Clerk

Commissioner Peters convened the meeting at 7:32 pm.

Aquifer Protection Review – Referral by Planning & Zoning on application by Quickcomm, Inc., 12 Turnberry Lane, Sandy Hook, CT for a modification to special exception to construct a parking facility on 12 Turnberry Lane.

Thomas Cusack, CPG, Senior Vice President of Leggette, Brashears & Graham, Inc., was present to discuss his findings of the proposed development and reviewed a letter he sent to Steve Trinkaus dated August 30, 2012.  After Mr. Cusack answered several questions by the Commission, Commissioner Pieragostini motioned to recommend that this application have a finding of no significant impact.  Commissioner Hammar seconded the motion.  The motion was approved unanimously.

OTHER – Mr. Sibley said that once the State agencies approve the aquifer regs, staff will move forward to getting applications and registrations started.  He is expecting the State approvals to be completed before the holidays.  

Steve Maguire will start full time in the Land Use Agency office with his time devoted half to Zoning Enforcement and half to Wetlands Enforcement.  Mr. Maguire has reviewed the wetland regulations and a draft update will be available for the commission at the next meeting.  The fees have remained the same.  

ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Pieragostini motioned to adjourn at 8:02 pm.  Commissioner Salling seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved.
