I. The DAB reviewed the proposed sign and has no objection to overall area of the sign (50 S.F.). There is some concern over the proportions of the aluminum columns and header. The drawing shows the column and header overhang at 2 feet while the depth of the header is 18 inches. We feel the proportions are too heavy and give the sing an industrial appearance and we would prefer these elements to be proportionally smaller. A column width of 12 inches and a header depth of 14 inches would reduce the severity of the signs appearance. The stone base and limestone cap is a vast improvement over the original stucco base shown on the approved drawings. The DAB recommends that the commission
favorably consider the application with the suggested changes in the proportions of the sign.
