Meeting Minutes
The Newtown Cultural Arts Commission (NCAC) held a meeting on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 7:00 PM in the Old Courtroom at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street, Newtown, CT.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Debbie Aurelia, Martin Blanco, Jennifer Johnston, Robert Kaiser, Donna Mangiafico, Marina Moscovici, Linda Watson
MEMBERS ABSENT: Joseph Grasso
AUXILIARY MEMBERS PRESENT: Jennifer Rogers
Chairperson Jennifer Johnston called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM.
ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES: Upon a motion of Jennifer Johnston, the minutes of the January 24, 2008 meeting were unanimously accepted.
DISCUSSION:
Website and Logos:
The logo was approved by the NCAC with one change. The heading should be moved up slightly so it is not touching the picture. Robert Kaiser will make the adjustment.
Jennifer Johnston and Robert Kaiser will meet on Thursday, March 6th to set up the NCAC website with the domain name Newtownartscommission.org.
Jennifer Johnston offered to pay for the website domain and submit for reimbursement once the NCAC budget is approved.
Budget/Grants/Fundraising:
Martin Blanco offered to pay the fee for the Peer Review Grant and will submit for reimbursement once the NCAC budget is approved.
Discussion on contacting potential sponsors was tabled until the March 27, 2008 meeting. In the meantime, members can contact Joseph Grasso with suggestions.
NCAC Recognition/Event Sponsorship:
Robert Kaiser discussed the possibility of the NCAC sponsoring an event to celebrate Earth Day. A juried art show using recycled materials with age categories was proposed. He will meet with the Energy Commission, who is coordinating activities, and report back.

The next meeting will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 7:00 PM in the Old Courtroom at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street, Newtown, CT.

ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:20 pm.
