Conservation Commission meeting, December 12, 2006

Old Business
1. Natural Resources inventory
There was some discussion about the Scenic Views of Newtown, the Document is too small. Rob Sibley would find a digital copy of the Natural Resource Inventory Memorandum# 3.
Barkman made a motion to adopt the Natural Resources Inventory, motion fail for lack of second.
This discussion is tabled to the next meeting, the Commissioners should read document #3 before the next meeting.
2. Barkman reported that two of the coordinators have been very interested in the discussions on watersheds in the middle schools classrooms.
3. Group Priorities for future work (Tabled to the next meeting)
4. Commission rating to proposed industrial park using open space criteria
Barkman will lead some of the commissioners on a walk on the site of the proposed tech park.

Look at the Rob’s report
The Conservation Official asked the Commissioners to read the document and make the suggestion to the First Selectman, which is the purchasing authority.
Wright made a motion for the Conservation Official to send a memo to the Chairman, and the chair will sight and send to the First Selectman; unanimously carried.
2. Report on meeting on GE Natural Resource Damage Grant
Sibley reported that the First Selectman is writing a grant to remove the invasive species on the corner of Glen Road and Walnut Tree.
3. Sibley reported that he is going to the coalition meeting with Scott Sharlow, the GIS Coordinator.
4. Rob Sibley said that he will be commenting on applications to P&Z pertaining conservation and wetlands.
5. Sandy Hook Design Guidelines
This discussion is tabled to the next meeting.
