BOROUGH OF NEWTOWN

Minutes of the Borough Board of Burgesses special meeting on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Edmond Town Hall, Newtown. Warden Gaston called the meeting to order at 7:48 p.m.
Present: Warden James Gaston, Senior Burgess Joan Crick, Second Senior Burgess Jay Maher, Burgess Anthony Baiad, Burgess Betsy Kenyon, Treasurer and Burgess Marie Walker, Zoning Officer Jean St. Jean, Clerk Ann Benore.
Also Present: Registrar of Voters LeReine Frampton
Absent: Tax Collector Jodie Enriquez
Warden Gaston read the call of the meeting as follows: Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the Borough of Newtown Board of Burgesses will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in the Alexandria Room at Edmond Town Hall for the purpose of placing into nomination the names of the candidates for elective office for the Borough Election to be held on Monday, May 2, 2011.
Warden Gaston thanked everyone for attending the meeting.
Darlene Spencer, 24 Sugar Lane, made a motion to nominate the following candidates:
Warden: James O. Gaston
Burgesses: Anthony P. Baiad
Joseph M. Maher, III
William J. Lucas, III
Clerk: Ann M. Benore
Treasurer: Marie F. Walker
Tax Collector: Jodie S. Enriquez
Assessor: Jodie S. Enriquez
Board of Assessment
Appeals Member (2): John S. Madzula
Janet M. Woycik
Zoning Commission
Member: Douglas A. Nelson
Zoning Board of Appeals
Member: Beatrice A. Gellert
The motion was seconded by Margaret L. Jepsen of 16 South Main Street and unanimously approved.
There being no other candidates, Burgess Baiad made a motion to close the slate of candidates, seconded by Burgess Kenyon and unanimously approved.
Burgess Kenyon made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:59 p.m., seconded by Senior Burgess Joan Crick and unanimously approved.
