Minutes of the Meeting of September 8, 2010
Minutes of the Meeting of the Borough of Newtown Zoning Commission on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the Borough Room, Town Hall South, 3 Main Street, Newtown, Connecticut. Chairman Linda Shepard called the meeting to order at 7:20 p.m.
Present: Linda Shepard, Brid Craddock and Palmer Chiappetta. Also Present: Zoning Enforcement Officer Jean St. Jean and Borough Attorney Donald Mitchell.
Absent: David Francis, Lucy Sullivan and Douglas Nelson.
Old Business:
a. 25 Church Hill Road/Young Properties, LLC - Jonathan Kost, architect, for Dr. Young was present. Mr. Kost discussed with the various amendments to the site plan. Ms. Craddock made a motion to accept the revised changes to the site plan as presented, seconded by Mr. Chiappetta and unanimously approved.
b. Any new proposed signs - none
c. Acceptance of any new applications - The Commission accepted the site development plan application submitted by Newtown Hook and Ladder Company No. 1, Incorporated.
d. Any old business:
- Mrs. St. Jean discussed the parking at 33 Main Street.
- Mrs. St. Jean said that she was getting complaints about school bus parking at a residential home on Diamond Drive. She said she called the owner of the bus and informed the owner that the bus could not be parked on residential property.
New Business:
- Any other new business - none.
Ms. Craddock made a motion to approve the minutes of the August 11, 2010 meeting, seconded by Mr. Chiappetta and unanimously approved.
There being no other business to transact the meeting was adjourned at 8:35 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for October 13, 2010.
