Newton Trails Committee
Meeting minutes
Thursday September 30, 2010
- Call to order: Chairperson Sandy Estabrook called meeting to order at 5:30 pm at entrance to Old Lower Road trail. In attendance- Sandy Estabrook, Trish McCarthy, Brian Valimont, Mary Anne Lapierre, Rick Milner, Frank Gibbs
- Committee examined property maps of Old Lower Road area. The committee discussed measurements and exact location of the road/trail and 10 ft strip abutting Old Lower Road that provides access to conservation property.
- Committee walked the trail from Highland Street to Wallace Street. The committee discussed cleaning downed tree limbs, brush, and dumped yard clippings along first 300-400ft of trail from Highland street entrance. The committee noted the rock walls that defined the edges of the trail and the paths created from other properties that crossed the trail.
- The committee discussed the linkages that could be formed with other town and conservation properties.
- Adjourn: The meeting was adjourned at 6:45pm.
