Trails Committee Minutes for July 22, 2010
Attendance:
Sandy, Shelia, Rick, and Mary Anne.
Guest: none
Meeting called to order at 7:15pm.
Sandy recorded the minutes.
Walked Busch Property:
Members met at the Busch Farm property on North Main St. We wanted to familiarize ourselves with the piece of property. Brian brought a hand held GPS. We parked in the parking lot. It was noted that it needed to be mowed to have a clear understand of what it was to be used for. We continued up the road commenting on how dry everything is due to lack of rain. Next we entered a large field area. To the left we encountered a small pond area. Looked the beavers once inhabited this wet spot. Mary Anne pointed out a spot that might be nice to place a bench in order to enjoy the view of the pond. Continuing on we stayed left a small trail led to Patriot Drive. Rick wondered if there would be space for a small parking lot so people could enter from that side. We turned around and went left where the trail
took us around to follow behind North main St. There were a few trees blocking the trail. There are some fences along which appeared to be the lot line. This was a loop trail which brought us back to the open field.
Next meeting Thursday August 12 at the Peanut Trail South Main St. Meet at the Fire Station at 7:00 PM.
