- Call to Order, Roll Call Vote
Vice Chairman Doggett called the meeting to order at 3pm. In attendance were Selectmen James L. Doggett, Matthew A. Burrill, Lawrence B. Foote, Charles R. Melvin, Sr., Town Administrator Nancy J. Wrigley, Town Clerk/Tax Collector Mary Jo McCullough, Treasurer Arthur Graichen and Office Manager Mary B. Winglass. Minutes were transcribed and typed by Office Manager Winglass.
Chairman Robert S. Donovan, Jr. was not in attendance.
2014 Tax Rate Setting
The Board reviewed a template to appropriate the 2014 Tax Rate from the (DRA) Department of Revenue Administration. The town has a new DRA Advisor Jamie Dow who was on speakerphone and answered questions from the Selectmen. Town Administrator Nancy Wrigley recommended the Board use $156,500 from the unassigned fund balance to reduce the tax rate which falls within the perimeters of the State’s recommendation and the town’s Fund Balance Policy. $25,000 was placed in the overlay for abatements.
Foote moved to approve the Town Administrator’s recommendation for setting the 2014 Tax Rate. Second by Melvin with a unanimous vote.
Burrill moved to adjourn at 3:17pm. Second by Melvin with a unanimous vote.
