PUBLIC MEETING MINUTES
- Call to Order, Roll Call Vote
Chairman Donovan opened the meeting at 6:00 pm. In attendance were Selectmen Robert S. Donovan, Jr., James L. Doggett, Matthew A. Burrill, and Charles R. Melvin, Sr. and Town Administrator Nancy J. Wrigley. Larry B. Foote was not present. Minutes were transcribed and typed by Town Administrator Nancy J. Wrigley.
Selectman Donovan moved to go into Nonpublic Session under RSA 91-A:3 II (b) – Fire Department. Second by Doggett, passed with a unanimous roll call vote: Donovan - aye, Doggett - aye, Burrill - aye, Melvin - aye,

Selectman Doggett moved to close the non-public meeting at 8:20 pm. Second by Selectman Melvin, with a roll call vote: Donovan - aye, Doggett - aye, Burrill – aye, Melvin – aye. ~The Selectmen reserve the right to keep all matters confidential until in the opinion of the majority of the members the circumstances no longer apply except to announce the following:
1. Candidate for Fire Chief: Jonathan M. True declined the position of Fire Chief.
2. Selectman Doggett moved to re-open and re-advertise the position of Permanent Part-time Fire Chief for the Town of Newton with an expedited process. Second by Selectman Melvin, with a unanimous vote.
Selectman Doggett moved to adjourn at 8:22 pm. Second by Chairman Donovan. Unanimous.
