PUBLIC MEETING MINUTES
- Call to Order, Roll Call Vote:
Chairman Donovan called the meeting to order at 6:10 pm. ~In attendance were Selectmen James L. Doggett, Matthew A Burrill, Lawrence B. Foote, Charles R. Melvin, Sr., and Town Administrator Nancy J. Wrigley. The Minutes were transcribed and typed by Town Administrator Nancy J. Wrigley.
Selectmen’s Office Manager Mary B. Winglass was not present at the meeting.
Vice Chairman Doggett moved to go into Nonpublic Session under RSA 91-A:3 II (a) – Fire Department; (b) Facilities Maintenance/Custodian; (d) Negotiation of Contract. ~Second by Selectman Foote, Motion passed with a unanimous roll call vote: Chairman Donovan – aye, Selectman Doggett - aye, Selectman Burrill – aye, Selectman Foote - aye, Selectman Melvin – aye.
Selectman Foote moved to close the nonpublic meeting at 9:15 pm. ~Second by Selectman Burrill, motion passed with a unanimous roll call vote: Chairman Donovan, - aye, Selectman Doggett - aye, Selectman Foote - aye, Selectman Melvin - aye, Selectman Burrill - aye. ~The minutes of the meeting will remain confidential until in the opinion of the majority of the members the circumstances no longer apply except to announce the following;
- Per a vote to take Michael Adams off probation and make him a permanent on-call Fire Fighter increasing his rate of pay from Grade X Step 1 to Grade XV Step 1, effective 07/01/2014.
- Per a vote to take James Ryan off probation and make him a permanent on-call Fire Fighter increasing his rate of pay from Grade X Step 1 to Grade XV Step 1, effective 07/01/2014.
- Per a vote to change John Kane from Grade XV Step 4 to Grade XV Step 7, effective 07/01/2014; and to include retroactive pay back to January 1, 2014 in the amount of $0.50 per hour for hours worked due to him completing his FF2 training.
- Per a vote to hire Tony Romanoski as the Facilities Maintenance / Custodian with a 6 month probationary period effective 07/15/14 pending a background check, at Grade XII Step 1.
On a motion by Selectman Donovan and seconded by Selectman Foote, the Board re-entered public session at 9:15 pm. The Board was polled: Selectman Donovan, aye; Selectman Foote, aye; Selectman Melvin, aye, Selectman Burrill, aye; Selectman Doggett, aye.
- Other Business, Sign Manifests, Requisitions, Abatements, Tax Credits, Correspondence and Appointments
- Selectman Burrill moved to sign the memo to the Department Heads regarding the July 1, 2014 Selectmen’s Meeting where the Board of Selectmen approved changes to the reporting relationships of several key roles within the Town Staff, in an effort to improve communication and efficiency within the Town Hall. Second by Selectman Foote with a unanimous vote.
- Selectman Burrill moved to sign the vender manifest in the amount of $67,873.19. Selectman Doggett seconded the motion. The vote was four in favor with Selectman Melvin abstaining.
- Selectman Foote moved to sign the vender manifest in the amount of $2,864.68. Selectman Doggett seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous.
- Selectman Doggett moved to sign the payroll manifest dated June 29, 2014 to July 12, 2014. Selectman Foote seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous.
Selectman Foote moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:45 pm. Second by Selectman Melvin, motion passed with a unanimous vote.
