SITE WALK MINUTES
The Board of Selectmen held a site walk at the Newton Transfer Station on Friday, May 10, 2013 in order to work on the bid specifications for the installation of a security fence.
Chairman Thayer opened the meeting at 6pm. In attendance were Chairman Raymond D. Thayer, Selectman Charles R. Melvin, Sr., Selectman Robert S. Donovan, Jr., and Acting Transfer Station Manager Tom Difalco.
All present walked the site to determine the location of the fence, the height of the fence will be 8 foot. The total length of the fence required is 1,399 feet. Approximately three (3) gates are to be installed; two in the front and one in the rear of the Transfer Station. The Board discussed having the Road Agent clean out the some of the dead trees and brush along the road front. The highway department will have a separate entrance to the sand/salt shed. All fencing on the roadside will have green slates; gates will all be on rollers, not electrical.
The meeting ended at 6:50pm.
