SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES
- Call to Order, Roll Call Vote
- Chairman Thayer called the meeting to order at 4:30pm. In attendance were Chairman Raymond D. Thayer, Selectman Lawrence B. Foote and Town Administrator Nancy J. Wrigley. Selectman Trisha J. McCarthy was unable to attend due to personal reasons. Office Manager Mary B. Winglass was on vacation. Minutes were transcribed and typed by Town Administrator Nancy J. Wrigley.

- Open bids for Septic Installation at Greenie Park
The specifications were read and bids were submitted by the following:
- Senter Brothers, Plaistow, NH $8,500
- F & S Construction, Kingston, NH $8,800
- D & V Excavating and Landscaping, Belmont, NH $9,280
- Al Hoyt & Sons, Plaistow, NH $7,890
- Gibbs Construction, Newton, NH $8,000
- Kevin Greaney Materials and Trucking, Newton, NH $9,700
- Mark Viens & Sons, Danville, NH $9,500
- All Phase Construction $8,285
- HS & G Erosion Control, Weare, NH $7,100
- CB LaFrance Contracting Co., Pelham, NH $12,808.90
- Rye Beach Landscaping, Rye Beach, NH $7,486
- Northern New England Field Services, Stewartstown, NH $9,845
- Britton’s Excavating & Landscaping, Sandown, NH $7,900
- Stateline Landscaping, Hampton Falls, NH $8,895
The contractor for Northern New England Field Services was present and made the comment that the bid specs did not say anything about connecting the plumbing. The Board agreed to take these bids under advisement until the Building Department could review them.
- Open bids for Greenie Park Field Maintenance
The specifications were read and bids were submitted by the following:
- CMI Property Solutions, Hampton, NH $11,775.95
- Turning Leaves Landscaping, Epping, NH $12,000
- TruGreen, Londonderry, NH $6,459
- Proscapes, Inc., Milford, NH $10,630
- No Name submitted, $6,720.
- Drago’s Landscaping, Derry, NH $8,225
- David Marden Landscaping, Newton, NH $9,376
The Board agreed to take these bids under advisement until they have a chance to review them.
- Accept resignation from Highway Laborer David Leveille
Mr. Leveille’s resignation letter was read. Selectman Foote made a motion to accept David Leveille’s resignation. Second by Thayer. Unanimous.
- Letter of authorization for Tax Collector’s Office to collect and remit to the municipality, payment for boat registrations.
Boat Agent Agreement letter to the Department of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles was read whereby the Board of Selectmen is authorizing the Office of the Town Clerk/Tax Collector to collect and remit to the Town of Newton, payment for boat fees as required by RSA 72-A:3.
Chairman Thayer motioned to allow the Office of Town Clerk/Tax Collector to act as the Boat Agent. Second by Selectman Foote. Unanimous.
- Announcements
- Other Business, Sign Manifests, Requisitions, Abatements, Tax Credits, Correspondence and Appointments
- PA-42 Application for an exemption of a residence in an Industrial or Commercial Zone was signed by the Board. Chairman Thayer stated that this is a new law under RSA 75:11 and is granted to the resident at 22 Bartlett Street.
- Welfare Manifest was signed in the amount of $895.00.
- Check register report 2/8/12 in the amount of $4,338.25 for New Hampshire Retirement.
- Equitable Sharing Agreement and Certification form was signed by the Police Chief and the Selectmen Chairman setting forth the requirements for Newton’s participation in the Drug Forfeiture Program showing an ending balance of $603.06.
Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes – February 21, 2012
- Vacation request from Mary Ann Williams was approved by the Board of Selectmen.
- The Vendor Manifest in the amount of $64,802.69 was signed.
- Adjourn: Being no other business, Chairman Thayer adjourned the meeting at 4:55 PM.
