PUBLIC MEETING

  • Call to Order, Roll Call Vote
Chairman Thayer opened the meeting at 1:10pm.  In attendance were Chairman Raymond D. Thayer, Selectman Lawrence B. Foote, Selectman Trisha J. McCarthy, Town Administrator Nancy J. Wrigley and Office Manager Mary B. Winglass.  Minutes were transcribed and typed by Office Manager Winglass.

  • Review of the 2012 Town Warrant Articles
The Board reviewed the 2012 Town Warrant and related documentation for tonight’s Public Hearing scheduled for 7pm.

  • Proposed revision to Transfer Station Fee Schedule
The Board reviewed a revised fee schedule for Newton residents only.  Certain items under the fee schedule have been reduced based upon new signed contracts which reduced the cost to the town.  

Chairman Thayer motioned to accept the fee schedule for Newton residents only as revised and recommended by Transfer Station Manager Kevin Jolicoeur.  Second by Selectman Foote.  Vote: Unanimous.

  • Letter of resignation from Jennifer Klopotoski, Recreation
Chairman Thayer motioned to accept the resignation from Recreation Commission member Jennifer Klopotoski.  Second by Selectman Foote.  Vote: Unanimous.

  • Other Business, Sign Manifests, Requisitions, Abatements, Tax Credits, Correspondence and Appointments
Selectman Foote motioned to accept a letter of resignation from Mary Williams, Bookkeeper/Payroll Administrator effective January 23, 2012 and that she has offered to help on an on call basis.  Second by Chairman Thayer.  Vote: Unanimous.

The Board signed a Vendor Manifest to NH Retirement in the amount of $9,623.78.

Chairman Thayer signed three documents confirming the terms and objectives of the 2011 year-end audit provided by Vachon, Clukay & Company, Town Auditors.  

The Board reviewed the final 2012 Town Warrant, Tax Impact and the Budget Worksheet to be handed out at the Public Hearing.

Selectman Foote questioned election pay for Deputy Town Clerk Cheryl Saunders.  

The Board signed an abatement for Juanita Hedrick, 54 Wilders Grove Road in the amount of $29.26.

Chairman Thayer adjourned the meeting at 2:20pm.
