Meeting Minutes of April 10, 2006
In attendance: Bob Bartlett, Steve Palmer, Rick Daniels, Eileen Patterson, John Owens, EMD, Selectmen: Gary Nelson and Bob Donovan,Jr.
Meeting called to order at 6:35 PM by Gary Nelson
New business/discussion: Regarding the architect’s invoice that was accepted and forwarded to the Selectmen at the March 23, 2006 meeting. Discussion centered on whether the architects have meet all contractual agreements, and if each line item has been completed. Direction was given to the selectmen to hold payment of invoice until the committee meets with the architect to discuss contract and finalization of drawings. Bob Bartlett will contact the architect to set up a meeting to discuss the contract.
Discussion with Selectmen regarding the proposal the Committee sent to them in November, requesting that action be taken to review and act on a lease agreement for land from Chester Bearce on Merrimac Road. The committee reviewed what Chet’s needs would be, what he has agreed too, time frame of how long the offer is available, the acreage, when the debt will be paid and the legalities of what the town will need to tend too. The selectmen responded with the suggestion that they would look at maps and assessments, come back to the committee with a dollar value of the land and taxes, and what future valve the land might amount too. They will also investigate as to whether the selectmen have the authorization to negotiate a land lease without town vote. If so, they will meet with Chet Bearce or his
representative, and start the process of setting up a lease.
