  • Added to the agenda were:  Greenie Park updates.
  • Memorial Day:  Pivero has contacted several Veteran Groups, including the Kingston Veteran's Club, VFW Post 1088 in Kingston, motorcycle veterans, and police veterans.  Bill Landry has contacted additional veterans in Newton.  Pivero said it is possible Miss New Hampshire may be able to march.  The Commission reviewed the line-up and logistics of the parade.  Parade signage has arrived and will be posted by Pivero.  Collyer, St. Cyr, Faghan and Milner will do the line-up at the staging and make sure the parade begins at 10 AM sharp.  Pivero will transport veterans from Memorial School to the parade start. They will then proceed along the parade route, passing out programs and small flags.  Pivero will have some of the motorcyclists help with the distribution.
  • Milner has interviewed and prepared a write-up on Grand Marshall United States Army Retired Master Sergeant William Thomas, and Burrill will find someone with a convertible to drive him in the parade.  Collyer will buy bunting and will call local businesses along the parade route to make sure they are aware of the event.  Pivero said that the Kingston Veterans Club will not march but will be at the Willow Grove Cemetery for the ceremonies.  Because there are 98 veterans buried at the Highland Cemetery, the veterans will do a pass and review at that point.  Faghan will speak with Matthew Bragg, Band Director, about making sure the band is playing music as they pass Town Hall, where cable will be set up, and at the Highland Cemetery to honor those veterans.  Milner will finalize the programs and have them printed.  Alcinhaido will order coffee, water and donuts to serve to marchers at the Parade beginning.  Collyer will obtain corsages and boutonnieres for the VIP marchers from Newton Greenhouse.
  • Beach Sign:  The Commission will be needing four signs:  for "No Trespassing - Use by Residents or by Permit Only", "Beach Closed December 1- May 1" and 2- "Premises Protected by Security Surveillance".  Office Manager Mary Winglass will be placing an order for signs for other town organizations, and Collyer will let her know the ones Recreation needs as a part of the order.
  • Beach Sand and Roots:  St. Cyr will get an update of the quote John Neveux was able to get last fall, for turning over and regrading the entire beach area, and will also get a quote for root and tree branch cleanup for the next meeting.
  • Greenie Park.  St. Cyr presented quotes for $74 for materials to paint the new picnic tables and $96 for the merry-go-round, plus a brush.  He offered to do the painting.  He will also paint both the wall ball and basketball court once those surfaces are repaired in a month or so.  Repairs to the skate park will be discussed at the next meeting.  Burrill made a motion, seconded by St. Cyr, that we spend an amount not to exceed $200 for materials for the picnic tables and merry-go-round.  The motion passed unanimously.  St. Cyr will work with Town Administrator Nancy Wrigley to proceed.
