Minutes
Call to order
Chairman Rick Bailey called the meeting to order at 7:45 pm with the following Commission members in attendance: Nancy Slombo, Theresa Gridley and Bob Donovan, BOS ex Officio. Minutes were recorded by secretary Lisa Babcock.

Newton Baseball Fundraising Committee
The following members of the Newton Baseball Fundraising Committee were in attendance to discuss plans regarding maintenance and improvement of the baseball and softball fields at Greenie Park: Bob Morton, Rob Hayes, Christine Pasto, William Scheidegger and Jim Dolan.
Newton Baseball gave the following back ground information:
· 16 of the 19 baseball/softball teams share Greenie Park and Memorial School fields.
· More facilities are needed for games and practices.
· The Fundraising Committee has developed a 3 year plan to improve existing fields and add new facilities.
· The Fundraising Committee intends to work with the Recreation Commission and will seek approval and input before making changes.
Newton Baseball will do the following maintenance on the fields:
· Conditioning of the Comac Field infield
· Repairs to mound & home plate at Comac
· Surface preparation for Greenie 2 infield
· Batting cage – mound and plate
Quotes will be obtained for the following projects.
· Tom Gasse will get a quote on extending the fence between the dugout and backstop.
· Newton Baseball will get a quote on installing a holding tank for the bathrooms.
· Newton Baseball will get a quote on re-routing the Greenie 2 fence at the drop off and adding a practice/minors field.
· Bob Donovan will get a quote on correcting the drainage problems on the fields and roadway.
Greenie Park
Nancy Slombo motioned to have a chemical toilet brought to Greenie Park 1 month earlier than originally planned to accommodate the baseball schedule. 2nd Theresa Gridley. Vote: Unanimous. The chemical toilet will be at Greenie Park from April 1 – November 30.
Elections
Members were elected to the following positions by unanimous vote:
Chairman – Rick Bailey
Vice Chair – Theresa Gridley
Treasurer – Nancy Slombo
Inventory
Rick will organize two teams to get the inventory done before the next meeting.
Bills
There were no bills.
Other Business
Secretary to contact web master about updating the list of Commission members and titles.

Rick Bailey motioned to adjourn at 9:50 pm, 2nd Nancy Slombo, vote: unanimous.
