· Patriotic Events
o Memorial Day Parade will be on Tuesday, May 30th
o Time: 6:30 pm at fire station, rain or shine
o Rick motion to pay Nancy $65 for flags for marchers in parade, in favor, unanimous
o Representative Mary Allen, attended meeting, said she would say the Pledge of Allegiance at parade ceremony
o Representative David Welch can provide a cannon if wanted
o Boy Scouts will serve refreshments at Horace Mann building after parade
o Secretary to contact Girl Scouts re marching
o Rick contacted Newton Baseball re marching
o Bob to ask Police & Fire departments to participate
o Need to select a Grand Marshall and secure a car for him/her
o High school band will march
· Greenie Park
o Mr./Mrs. Surette attended meeting, regulation size for basketball court is 50 ft by 94 ft
o Current skate park is 50 ft by 98 ft, playground also 50 ft by 98 ft
o Bob to find out who town insurance agent is so they can be contacted re wording on signs
o East Coast Lumber is willing to discuss donating lumber for pavilion
o Reviewed bill from Greenie Park cleanup, more clarification needed
o Rick to e-mail Tom Gasse to put up skateboard sign, it is at Nancy’s house
o Bob to get fire lane signs
o Boy Scouts will clean up tennis court and remove rotted backboard
· Other Business
o Rick motion to accept contract for Julie & Brownie to perform Healthy Eating/Safety show at June 15 T-Ball social, in favor, unanimous
o Rep. Mary Allen said veteran’s memorial near Newton Learning Center should be moved to a better location
