NEWTON PLANNING BOARD
MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING AND MEETING
OCTOBER 7, 2010
1. Call to Order: Chairman Jim Doggett called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm. In attendance were: Chairman Jim Doggett, Vice Chairman Barbara White, Planning Board member Ann Miles, BOS ex officio Trisha McCarthy, and Alternates Rick Milner and Mary Allen. Minutes were transcribed by Chairman Doggett. Doggett appointed Allen to stand in for Kim Pettit and Milner to stand in for Frank Gibbs.
2. Discussion of personnel issue:
Miles moved to enter non-public session under RSA 91-A:3.II-c(personnel). Second by White. The Chair polled the Board and the motion carried unanimously.
McCarthy moved to come out of non-public session. Second by Miles. Motion carried unanimously. The board came out of non-public session at 7:35 pm.
3. Discussion regarding Administrative Assistant position:
White moved to recommend to the Board of Selectmen that Rick Milner be appointed interim Administrative Assistant to the Planning Board immediately due to the emergency situation created by the vacant position. Milner will be hired at the same job grade and a pay rate of $12.60/hr. Motion carried 5-0-1 with Milner abstaining.
Miles moved to repost the Administrative Assistant position. Second by Allen. Motion carried unanimously.
4. Adjourn: The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 pm.
