LOCATION: Gale Library, 16 S Main Street

MEETING MINUTES
  • Call to Order: 10:05 a.m.
  • In Attendance: Lynne Camp, Chairperson; Kathy Meserve, Treasurer; Anne Banks, secretary; Terry Caswell, Director.
Unfinished Business
  • Letter to Patron: Anne presented the letter to be sent to a patron who had safety concerns about access to the front door of the Library and the book bin on the front porch during winter weather. The letter explained that Terry had spoken to the Joint Safety Committee but was told there was no money in the town budget to address any changes. In light of this, the Library will waive fines for the patron. The letter was approved and will be copied over by hand, to be mailed this week.
New Business
  • General Review of Personnel: The Trustees reviewed with Terry the general longevity and performance of all staff. We realize we have little turnover here and are glad to have long term employees who perform very well in their jobs. We also mentioned Terry’s positive review as well. We thanked Terry for her input.
  • Terry was excused so the Trustees could enter nonpublic session. Lynne moved that the Trustees enter nonpublic session to discuss Personnel Matters as provided by RSA 91-A:3 II (a). Kathy seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Trustees entered nonpublic session at 10:32 a.m.
  • The Trustees re-entered public session at 11:21 a.m. Anne had moved in the nonpublic session that the minutes be sealed, because making them public would render the proposed action of the board ineffective. Kathy had seconded the motion. The Trustees then voted unanimously in the nonpublic session to seal the minutes of the nonpublic session.
  • Terry rejoined the Trustees and the Trustees reviewed with her the decisions made on the 2017 proposed Library budget. Meeting adjourned at 11:27 a.m.
Respectfully submitted,

Anne D. Banks, Secretary
