MEETING MINUTES
  • Call to Order: 10:05 A.M.
  • In Attendance: Marilyn Landry, Chairperson;  Kathy Meserve, Treasurer; Lynne Camp, Acting Secretary/Alternate Trustee; Sally Woodman, Alternate Trustee;  Terry Caswell, Director;  Julie Lamere, Guest; Dana Whitney, Guest.
  • Minutes from the previous meeting (2/18/15):  Kathy moved to accept the minutes as written. Marilyn seconded. Minutes accepted unanimously.
  • Correspondence and Communications: Terry received a copy of the town audit report for the library. Everything appeared to be in order and no problems were noted.
  • Library Director’s Report: Kathy and Sally noted the large number of Ancestry database searches and Terry explained that a lot of people were doing them from their home computers now using the library account/password. Kathy asked about the Parents and Children group meeting at the library and Terry explained that it was a onetime only organizational meeting. Future meetings will be held at the homes of the parents participating. Discussion also took place about the table pad that the Friends plan to donate. Terry will discuss the possibility of a glass pad with the Friends as that may provide better protection for the new table. Kathy motioned to accept the Director’s Report and Lynne seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
  • Treasurer’s Report:  Lynne motioned to accept the Treasurer’s Report and Marilyn seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
  • Unfinished Business:
  • NHDB Digital Magazine Update: A letter from the state indicated that currently no back issues are available, but they are working on a plan with the vendor to include them. The vendor is also providing a statewide discount of $5000 for the first year which will amount to discounts for individual libraries.
  • Building Maintenance Review: We have new cleaners for the library. Tony will now be doing our cleaning. It is not clear yet if he will still be able to do all his regular handyman duties as well. Terry will address this with Nancy Wrigley and bring up that we still need the siding repaired, the ramp to the shed repaired, the inside walls painted, etc.
  • New Business:
  • Town Voting Results: Results from the election were discussed. Lynne was elected as a new Library Trustee.
  • Library Board of Trustees Positions:   Marilyn and Sally are leaving and there are 2 new alternate positions open. (There are 2 guests today who indicated interest in the alternate positions.)  Lynne is the new Trustee and will serve as Chairperson for next year; Kathy will stay as Treasurer and Anne will stay as Secretary. Marilyn motioned that the officers will be as stated for next year and Kathy seconded.  The motion passed unanimously.
  • NHLTA Spring Conference Review:  The Spring Conference will be held May 18, 2015 in Concord. The trustees will go and we will vote on this at next month’s meeting.
  • National Library Week (April 12-18): The theme is “Unlimited Possibilities” and Terry reported that activities will take place throughout the month of April. There will be a hiker speaking about his journey on the Appalachian Trail, a speaker on Identity Theft and a program on Backyard Chicken Raising. The local middle school will hang their artwork in the library for display and there will also be a pottery display by local potter Wendy Jackson. Sue Mears will also do a children’s program planting “grow um” kits.
  • Acceptance of Donations: Patrons donated $10.80 during February. Marilyn motioned to accept the $10.80 in patron donations and Kathy seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
  • Friends’ News:  The Friends made a total of $705 at the Election Day bake sale - $505 from sales and $200 in donations. They are tentatively planning a book sale on June 13th. They indicated they want the dolls Marilyn plans to donate for their next Doll Tea Party – date not determined yet. The Friends also provided a recruitment flyer which will be posted locally including Sargent Woods to recruit additional members.
  • Monthly Invoice Review and Initialing: Review and initialing of invoices was done at this meeting.
  • Next Trustee Meeting:  April 8, 2015 at 10:00 A.M.

Respectfully submitted,

Lynne O. Camp
