UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
- The results of last nights voting was discussed first as it impacts many library issues and decisions.
- The Destiny Library Manager Web catalog plan has
been tabled.
NEW BUSINESS:
- The library trustee alternate, Beverly Batchelder, has tendered her resignation. CityplaceBeverly has served the Gale Library as an alternate for many years and will be greatly missed. The board of Trustees is sorry she can no longer serve and extend our best wishes for her future endeavors. We will begin searching for a replacement immediately.
- It was motioned and voted to increase the mileage
stipend from 40.5 cents per mile to .505. This will bring
the library in line with other town employees.
- The spring cleaning of the library carpets has been
postponed.
- The renovation of the E-room, one of the children’s
rooms, has been postponed.
- The subject of cost-of-living raises for the Gale Library staff was discussed. A proposal was made and voted on to implement the increases as planned. The board will make any necessary budgetary adjustments in other areas.
- Three sculptures, originally given to Irene Nally, have been on display at the library for many years. Irene is
taking the Native American head home and leaving
the other two to be placed on display for anyone
who would like them.
- The trustees voted to accept the quotes contained in
The Capital Improvement Program being presented to
the selectmen on behalf of the Gale Library.
- The subject of the burn marks on the vinyl siding of the
library building was discussed. Terry Caswell has
reported the damage to the police chief. The
Trustees discussed the possibility of procuring
security cameras as one solution. It is hoped that any
citizen observing any activity, after or during library
hours will report it to the authorities and/or library
staff.
- The bake sale, held by the Friends of the Library
at the recent elections, brought in over $200. We
would like to extend our thanks to all of those who
cooked, baked, and purchased the items for the sale.
- Library Week is April 13-19. The Gale Library will hold an open house on Saturday, April 12th from 11:00a.m. to 1:00p.m.
ADJOURNMENT: 10:45a.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Sarah Woodman
