Old Business:
Primary Schoolhouse Renovation Update – Bill Landry showed the pictures of the completed floor.  Rob Hayes plans to sand the floor and applying a sealer coat.  Bill and Ron will then put the display cases in, then Rob will finish the floor.  Bill has the molding at his house.
Granite State Poker – Bill Landry reported he contacted the Dept of Justice, Charitable Trust Foundation on the status of the application.  They told him they needed the Articles of Incorporation. He found them in a box of documents he got from Mary Marshall and sent a copy in.

Scanning Project – Karen O'Malley reported she and Mary Marshall are almost done with the kitchen items.  She indicated they are missing a few items that have an accession form.  They have put the pictures in the computer so when you pull up the item you can see the picture of it.  Karen said there are 3 or 4 more rooms to do.  They will not be doing more until the spring as it is too cold in the Marshall House.  Going forward, their plan is to take the pictures as they accession the items.

Civil War Presentation Review – Sally Woodman reported that the Steve Closs Civil War presentation was received quite well.  Twenty seven people attended.  Sally thanked all those who baked the cookies.  Bill Landry received an email from Nicole Wolfe , a teacher at the Middle School.  She offered to be a liaison between the school and the Society.  John Meserve suggested finding out what they are studying in the spring and see if we can find a speaker on the subject.  Ann Miles said the Concord Coach Society has put together a DVD on the history of the couching industry in New England. They are looking for ways to get it out to the public.  The Concord Coach was the stage coach that went across the country.  She indicated there are some coaching roads in Newton.  Diane Morin will send Ann an email with contact information for the NHCCM. They distribute this kind of thing it to all the local PEG cable people.  Diane suggested Ann send it to the Cable Committee at the Town Hall.  Marilyn Landry made a motion to purchase Steve Closs' Civil War book and donate it to the Library.  Cheryl Saunders seconded the motion.  The motion passed on a unanimous vote.

New Business:
F. Reynolds' Hayford Carriage – Mary Marshall reported Forest Reynolds' Hayford Carriage is now in the Marshall House barn.  Bev and Ed told the executor that it belongs to the Historical Society.  Several members related stories of Forest riding around in his carriage.  Diane Morin asked what we should do to preserve it.  Mary Marshall said we should cover the carriages.  Ann Miles suggested putting moth balls in the barn to keep the mice away.  She volunteered to grease the wheels. Bill Landry noted that David Hayford was looking to purchase a carriage.  Ann Miles volunteered to email David to inform him Forest had left his carriage to the Society. Bill suggested if he approaches us we may want to consider selling the large carriage, not Forest's carriage.

Society sponsored forum for Town Warrant Articles – Sally Woodman asked if we'd be interested in sponsoring a forum on Cable Channel 20 for people to explain the Warrant Articles - pro and con.  Ann Miles suggested if we didn't want to do all the articles, consider just doing village redistricting article.  There was discussion on what was involved in doing this and how this would provide voters more information to make an informed decision on voting.  Sally Woodman, Marilyn Landry, Bill Landry, Ann Miles, and Kathy Meserve will meet after the new year as an exploratory committee to investigate what needs to be done to organize this.

Vacant Committee Positions, Archivist and Historian – Bill Landry read the duties of each position.  Lisa Fortin volunteered to be the Archivist.  Irene Nally will work with her on this.  Courtney Jason volunteered to be the Historian.  Ann Miles stated Plymouth State College has an intern program and that we may be able to get help from them if we knew what we were missing.  Mary Marshall made a motion to amend the Archivist's responsibilities in the By-Laws to read “The Archivist shall be responsible for the cataloging of the society's document and artifact collections.  Lisa Fortin seconded the motion.  The motion passed on a unanimous vote.
