Bill Landry called the meeting to order at 7:04 PM.
Secretary’s Report – Mary Riordan
John Meserve made a motion to accept the minutes of November 30, 2008. Marilyn Landry seconded the motion. The motion passed on a unanimous vote.
Treasurer’s Report – Bill Landry
The November 30, 2008 account balances were:
Marilyn Landry made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report. Bill Moison seconded the motion. The motion passed on a unanimous vote.
Old Business:
Corporate Membership/Donation Drive: Bill Landry reported he had sent out 7 letters to local businesses and received 5 responses for a total of $375.00. We received a Patron membership from Estabrook Garage and Corporate memberships from Petra Paving and Peter Nicole Excavating. Country Pond Fish and Game donated $100 and Newton Glass and Garage donated $25.
School House Outside Cleanup: John Meserve, Ron Saunders and Bill Landry cleaned up the leaves at the Schoolhouse. They also started to take out the first layer of the floor.
Hayford Carriage Ownership Status: Bill Landry reported he received a Bill of Sale from the town for the carriage. The carriage officially belongs to us.
New Business:
Election of 2009 Officers: Bill Moison made a motion to have the Secretary to cast one ballot for the current slate of officers. John Meserve seconded the motion. The motion passed on a unanimous vote. Mary Riordan cast one vote for the current slate of officers to be re-elected to serve for 2009.
The officers for 2009 are:
Bill Landry – Chairperson and Treasurer
Kathy Meserve – Vice Chairperson
Mary Riordan – Secretary
Ron & Cheryl Saunders – Curators
Fire Extinguishers for the Marshall House: Bill Landry reported the town would put a fire extinguisher on the first and second floors of the Marshall House. He indicated we would get one for the Primary School House when the floor renovation is completed.
Peg Board Donation: Bill Landry reported that Connie Rowe has 4’ X 8’ framed pegboards she is going to get rid of. She will donate them if we have a use for them. There was discussion about what we could use them for. Bill will contact her about getting them. Ron Saunders will help Bill pick them up.
Correspondence:
NH Preservation Alliance (Stage Curtains): Bill Landry received an email asking if we had any stage curtains. The Alliance indicated they may money from the State for the preservation of these curtains. The survey is to find out which Towns have these curtains. Bill filled out an online survey. He indicated we have at least two in town. There was discussion on how many there are in town and what the theme of them is.
NH Dept. Agriculture, Markets & Food: Bill Landry received a Rural NH brochure signup request. This brochure lists all kinds of events in NH with an emphasis on family entertainment and education. There was discussion on what events we put on that may qualify for this brochure. Since we don’t know when the Primary School House will be finished, we will not put anything in this year’s publication. Bill Landry will send them an email indicating we would be interested in next year’s brochure.
Other:
Mary Marshall reported that Jan Bennet asked if we were going to have a tree lighting this year. Since the Primary School House floor is being renovated we did not plan on having this event this year. Several members said they had lights that could be used. Mary Marshall and Bill Landry will put lights on the tree.
Pat Wonson shared a cat story with the members.
Bill Landry thanked everyone for their work and participation this year. He indicated this was the best financial year we’ve had in his tenure.
Next meeting is Monday April 13, 2009.
Bill Moison made a motion to adjourn. Cheryl Saunders seconded the motion. The motion passed on a unanimous vote. Bill Landry adjourned the meeting at 7:45PM.
