Meeting Minutes

Present:  Chairman Peter Mears, Sandy Estabrook, Jaclyn Heffner, Nancy Slombo, Pat Wonson &Trisha McCarthy, minutes were transcribed and typed by McCarthy.

  • Introduction of Guest, Annie Colleyer & Charlie Zilch
  • Scheduled Business
  • Reviewed plans for Heath Road, Map 4, Blk 6, lots 3-17 & 3-18.  Plan shows 2 driveways instead of a shared driveway. Trees need to be cut in order to do this change.  This is a scenic road.  They would like to move forward with new recorded plan.  Silt fences and hay bails will be required by any wetland areas. No further concerns at this time.  Mears made a motion that the Conservation Commission has no issues with the dual driveway plan and requests the cutting of trees on the scenic road be the least impact necessary to accomplish the change.  A copy of these minutes will be sent to the Planning Board.
  • Review plans Tax map 9, Block 6, lot 7-1.  Discussed plans known as Kinsley Corner.  Charlie Zilch explained the DOT want the entrance moved north to improve shoulder area for de-acceleration.  Wetlands will be slightly impacted, but should be smaller. Still working on the box culvert in the beginning of the entrance area and exploring what contributes to this crossing.  Charlie said they are doing elevations again on Friday.  Sandy stated she had walked Kinsley.  Lots of high brush, blueberry bushes.  She suggested vegetated swales to assist with ground water.
  • Peter Mears discussed the Busch Farm.  The area needs to be reposted and also when we go there, we have reports of “Deer Stands” that have to be torn down.  We will need signs.  Trisha showed signs that we have left over from the last time we posted, but we only have about 30 signs left.  So we need more.  Sandy Estabrook made a motion for Peter to buy 100 signs that say “NO Hunting”, and permanent markers and cost not to exceed $100.00.  Nancy Slombo second and all are in favor.

  • Pat Wonson got sworn in as a renewing member.  Sandy Estabrook made motion for the expiration date to be three years. Nancy Slombo second and all were in favor.
  • Peter Mears made motion to change Trisha McCarthy from the selectman liaison to a regular member with a two year expiration date.  Sandy Estabrook second. All are in favor
  • Discussed Earth Day.  Trisha is trying to get groups together to do clean up on road side.  A few residents said they would help.  Trisha spoke to transfer station about the “Blue Earth Day” bags.  Transfer station could be a location where residents could pick up the “Earth Day Bags”.  Trisha also spoke to Road Agent Mike Pivero and Mike said that on the 22nd
( Monday), any earth day bags that are left road side, he will have his crew pick them up.  Any one that wants to participate is welcome to do so.

  • Other Business, Trisha reminded commission that Jackie Manock could not make it tonight, but will be at our next meeting.

  • Motion by Mears to close public meeting and adjourn at 8:30pm Second by Estabrook, all in favor.

Respectfully submitted:
Trisha McCarthy
