Conservation Commission Minutes for October 21, 2010  

Attendance:
Peter, Trisha, Shelia, Pat, Mary Anne, and Brian.

        Peter called the meeting to order at 7:35pm.
        Kim recorded the minutes.
Correspondence:

  • New Hampshire Association of Conservation Commissions- 40th Annual Meeting
  • NH DES Notice of Administrative Completeness Standard Dredge and Fill Application. William Grimes of 82 Wilder’s Grove Road, Newton NH.
  • NH DES Minimum Impact Expedited Application- Robert Johnson of 19 Wenmark's Road. Photocopy with signatures.
  • NH DES Minimum Impact Expedited Application- Rob Peterson of 21 Wenmark’s Road. Photocopy with signatures.
  • NHDES Wetlands Complaint File # 2010-02313 Michael and Tracy Treadwell of 80 Wilder’s Grove Newton NH 03858. DES is closing their file. No further action is required.  
  • Workers’ Compensation Program, an employee brochure.
Other Business:
  • Shelia attended the Municipal Law Lecture Series. Since she did not pre-register an invoice will be mailed to the Conservation Commission.
Brian motioned to have the Conservation Commission pay for the Law Lecture Series Lecture that Shelia had attended. Pat Second. All in Favor.
  • Members reviewed Site Walk from 19 and 21 Wenmark’s Road and from Puzzle Lane. Peter motioned to accept the Site Walk Minutes from Wenmarks Road and Puzzle Lane held on October 10, 2010. Pat Second. All in Favor.

Old Business:
1. Peter made a motion to reimburse Shelia $38.60 for materials purchased for Conservation Games that were played during the Greenie Park Family Fall Festival.
Trisha Second. All in Favor. Shelia informed the committee that Sandy had donated the large poster board and Mary Anne attached the lettering.   

Minutes Review- Peter motioned to accept the Minutes of October 7, 2010 as presented with the exception of amending page 2, number 5, under Other Business. In the second sentence the word “previously” will be added. The sentence will read, “The meeting was held in regards to a complaint that wetlands had been previously filled in for a driveway.”  Trisha Second. All in Favor.

New Business: Peter motioned to leave the 2011 budget as is, not making any changes to the 2010 budget. Pat Second All in Favor.
 
        
* Peter left the meeting at 8:35 pm.

Conservation Land and Trails:
1.  Commission members would like signs made, identifying land and trails in town;   Town Forest, Pinkerton Trail, Marden Conservation Land, Peanut Trail, Old Lower Conservation Trail, Trolley Trail, Wilder’s Grove Road, Bissen Trail, Hidden Acres Conservation Easement. Signs will be approximately 1’ ½ X 3’ in size.
2. Medallions will be placed at the end of Georges Way and the Stronic Property. Conservation needs to purchase additional medallions to identify conservation land.
3. Members discussed the trail from the Transfer Station to Maple Ave. We will ask Peter about this trail at our next meeting.
