Conservation Commission Minutes for November 6, 2008.  

Attendance: Peter, Pat, Sandy, Nancy, Shelia.

Peter called the meeting to order at 7:36 pm.
Correspondence:
1.      Rockingham Planning Commission Annual Legislator’s Forum. Hampton, NH.
2.      Rockingham County Conservation District, Stewardship of Conservation Easements.
3.      Certificate of Participation Awarded to Kimberly Lowther for attending Preventing Workplace Harassment and Discrimination. September 30, 2008.
4.      Geo Insight , Environmental Strategy Engineering.
5.      Ben Meadows Catalogue.
6.      Merrimac Savings Bank Stewardship Committee ending balance as of September 30, 2008 is $11,352.13.
7.      Merrimac Savings Bank Conservation Committee ending balance as of September 30, 2008 is $136718.06.

12.     Newton Planning Board Minutes. 10-28-08.
13.     Cost of Living Memo from Nancy Wrigley.
14.     Victory Fuel Site Plan review. Peter reviewed plans with the board members. No further comments.
15.      S&R Construction- Complaint of filled in wetlands. Peter motioned to have site walk at S& R Construction Tax Map 14, Block 1, Lot 24 on Monday November 10, at 4:00pm. Nancy Seconded. All in Favor.
16.     Memo from Lisa, Newton Planning Board. Review map of Newton and add all Conservation Land and Easements. – Members began to add information and will continue at the next meeting when Trisha is present so she can add any additional information.
17.     Code Enforcement Complaint. Violation of Scenic Roads. Board will review this complaint with Trisha.

Busch Farm: Received an invoice from Russell Estabrook for mowing Busch Farm. $275.00- Brush Hog Mowing. Peter suggested having Russell Continue mowing. Peter motioned to pay Russell Estabrook $275.00 for mowing the Busch Farm. Pat Seconded. All in Favor.
Nancy questioned anyone working on town owned land should hold an Insurance policy.
Kim will ask Nancy Wrigley about this concern.

New Business: Peter discussed his ideas for a forest management plan. He explained to the Board that he had spoken to the County Forrester and value of timber. There is an abundance of overgrowth on Currierville Road with little under growth. The large pines could be trimmed. There will be no clear cutting.

Old Business:

Other Business: Discussed having signs created for the Busch Farm, Currierville Road and the Peanut Trail.  We would like the signs to be simple:         Town of Newton
