Old Business:
Katherine Drive- Map 6 Block 9 Lot 9. Conservation members noticed that a new steel pin is located on the center of the railroad tracks. Conservation had previously sent a letter to Planning Board dated 6-1-08 with our concerns of a lot line discrepancy .  We had also requested a 30-foot no cut buffer zone located along the lots that abut the Peanut Trail. We would like this no cut buffer zone printed on the first page of the plans, deeded and recorded. The town owned Peanut Trail should also be refrenced on all plans.  A letter will be sent to Planning Board addressing the location of the pin, and the lot line discrepancy, and our request for the Planning Board not to approve anything on Katherine Drive until a site walk is complete.
A copy of the letter will be sent to the engineer, James Lavalle

New Business:
1.      Trisha had visited the Town Beach after receiving reports of damaged trees.
2.      Peter made a motion to have a site walk at Whispering Pines to evaluate the docks and Beach. Pat Seconded. All in Favor. Site walk will be held on Thursday July 24, 2008 at 6:30pm
3.      Discussed location of the proposed sand and salt storage shed adjacent to the Transfer Station. It is our request to build a shelter large enough to allow trucks to enter and be loaded inside to prevent overflow and run off. We also understand that the monitoring wells will continue to maintain healthy readings.
A letter will be sent to planning board supporting the location of the proposed storage shed.
4.      Once approved by Selectmen, Amnesty Day is tentatively scheduled for August 9th  and 10th.  Newton Residents Only. Household bulky items and tires will be accepted at the Transfer station.

Other Business:
Review  Georges Way/ Rosewood Builder site walk minutes. The site walk was held on June 21, 2008. Location: end of Georges Way cul-de-sac. Previewed Old Woods Road that held a Conservation Easement. Property owner requested a driveway at the end of the cul-de-sac in place of a shared driveway that had previously been approved. The members of Conservation accepted the request. Peter made a motion to accept the site walk minutes as presented.  Trisha Seconded. All in Favor.
A letter will be sent to Planning Board giving our consent to an end cut  over the conservation easement.

Meeting Adjourned at 9:00pm.
Respectfully Submitted,
Kimberly Lowther
Secretary
