Conservation Commission Draft Minutes for May 3 , 2007

Attending were:
Trisha McCarthy, Peter Mears, Pat Wonson, Nancy Slombo, Alicia Raddatz,
Sandy Estabrook, Tim Brennan

Trisha McCarthy called the meeting to order at 7:40pm

Minutes Reviewed from April 19, 2007
Peter made a motion to except minutes as presented. Nancy Seconded.
All in Favor

Correspondence: 1. Ben Meadows catalogue
                       2. Memo from Mary-Jo McCullough, Deputy Town Clerk
                       3. Memo from Cheryl Nelson, Treasurer
                       4. NH Department of Resources and Economic Development. Letter
                        denies request for a Trails Grant.  
                       5. NH Municipal Association Legislative Bulletin, April 20, 2007.
6.      Altus Engineering regarding a recent Lot Development Inspection on Zoe Lane. Tax Map 13 Block 2, Lot 15-15. about the transport of sediment in the wetlands. Letter will be drafted to Altus Engineering, Inc.
7.      Pollution Prevention and Good Housekeeping Training. Admission is free, members seemed interested.
8.      Merrimac Savings Bank Statement.
9.      Telephone Listing
10.     Appointment for Nancy Slombo




Busch Farms: 1. Trisha ordered 400 ‘Clean Water’ bookmarks and ordered four
Stormwater Management DVD’s for teachers to share with their students.
                2. Bio Monitoring Day is now scheduled with the Second graders.
3. Commission viewed video titled, ‘After the Storm’ a DVD that discussed the  arising issues and prevention techniques to protect stormwater pollution.
4.Alicia made a motion to pay old school bus invoice totaling $199.00 as well as the new school bus invoice up to $300.00.
Peter seconded. All in Favor.
4. Alicia discussed her plans to meet with the second grade school teachers to review the agenda of Bio Monitoring Day.
5. Trisha will mark and color code sections for Bio Monitoring Day.
6. Trisha created a list of supplies needed for Bio Monitoring Day.


Trails: Trails are reported to still be wet at this time.

Land Acquisition:  1.Wilders Grove Purchase and Sales is in final stages. Trisha received the HUD Statement. Commission currently owes Elite Escrow $706.39
Peter made a motion to pay Elite Escrow $706.39 for the Purchase of Wilders Grove Cottage Association. Tim Seconded. All in Favor.
                       2. Commission still questions the 25-foot setback and right-away for the land that abuts the Quaker Cemetery.

Wetland Cases:  Resident on Pond Street called about a water problem.
Old Business:  Nothing to report at this time.


New Business: Nothing to report at this time.

Other Business: 1.Brookside Lane resident had a complaint regarding the Transfer
                                  Station.
                          2. Peter spoke with resident on Smith Corner Road regarding an
                                  issue of woodchips being disposed on town land. All woodchips
                        have since been removed.

Alicia made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:40pm.
Tim Seconded. All in Favor.
