Conservation Commission Draft Minutes for February 15, 2007


Attending were: Trisha McCarthy, Peter Mears, Pat Wonson, Nancy Slombo

Trisha McCarthy called the meeting to order at 8:40

Minutes Review from February 1, 2007were reviewed. A motion to except the minutes was made by Trisha.
Pat Seconded.
All in Favor.

Correspondence:     
1.A brochure for Earthdayshirts.com  
Nancy made a motion to purchase Earthday T-shirts for committee   members and to use as prizes for a future bike race.  30 T-shirts in total will be purchased.
                Peter Seconded.
                All in Favor.
2. 2006 Annual Report Southern NH Resource Conservation and     Development Area  
        Council.        
3. New Hampshire Municipal Association Legislative Bulletin, February 2, 2007.
4. New Hampshire Municipal Association Legislative Bulletin, February 9, 2007.
Discussed issues relating to Bill # HD565. Conservation Commission will send emails to our representatives to voice our opinions.
5. -Selectman’s Meeting Agenda.
6. Town of Newton General Ledger Activity Report, Budget Expenditures.  Conservation
Commission year-to-date had spent $14.40. We have a variance of  $3,265.60
7. Wildlife Habitat Mapping Workshop for GIS Users. Held in Concord, NH concerning wildlife habitat. Registration is free. Originally sent to Tom Falk, our P.C. Workshop dates our March 9, 2007 and March 20, 2007 from 9:00am- 12:30pm.

Busch Farms:
Third annual Bio Monitoring Day will be held sometime in May. An exact date will be determined at a later time.

Trails:  Nothing to report at this time.

Land Acquisition:  Trisha called Attorney for Wilder’s Grove Property.

Wetland Cases:  Nothing to report at this time.
Old Business:  Nothing to report at this time.

New Business:  Nothing to report at this time.

Other Bussiness:        -Peter submitted an invoice for work done on Currierville.
This had been previously voted on during our January 4, 2007 meeting.
-Discussed incorporating the youth in the community with a conservation camp.
               This will be discussed further at a later time.
                -Kim Lowther brought to our attention a typo regarding the    minutes of January 4, 2007.  The date said 2006 instead of 2007.
Trisha made a motion to correct the minutes.
Peter Seconded.
All in Favor.
