NEWTON CABLE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

CALL TO ORDER: 4:30p.m.
Roll Call: Mary Winglass, Chair, Public Relations/Programmer, Chairman; Sally Woodman, Secretary; Diane Morin, Station Manager/member
Minutes from previous meeting of November 11, 2013:
Winglass motioned to accept the minutes as written. Morin seconded and the motion carried unanimously
Budget:
- Morin reported that we presently have a balance of $66,390.35. A Franchise fee will be forth coming soon.

- Station Manager Updates: Morin reported that she and Chris Liquori have resolved the audio problems the station has been experiencing. Liquori will try to acquire some headsets to try out.
New Business:
Other:
- The Cable Committee will recommend Connor Leavitt to the BOS for the position of operator starting at Grade 9, Step 1, at a rate of $11.14 per hour. He will begin on December 18, 2013 if the BOS agree to hire him. He is scheduled to go before the BOS on December 17, 2013. Morin will have him trained during the month of January.
Morin motioned to recommend to the BOS the hiring of Connor Leavitt as a Cable Operator, Grade VII, Step 1at a rate of $11.14 per hour. His start date would be December 18, 2013. Winglass seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
