NEWTON CABLE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
DATE: November 7, 2012
PLACE: Town Meeting Hall
TIME: 5:30p.m.
CALL TO ORDER: 5:05p.m.
Roll Call: Diane Morin, Chairman; Mary Winglass, Public Relations/Programmer, Sally Woodman, Secretary;
Donna Judge, Station Manager; Marilyn Landry
Minutes from Previous Meeting of October 17, 2012:
Mary W motioned to accept the October minutes as written. Diane seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

There are 2 public hearings scheduled for November 20, 2012 at 7:00pm which we will broadcast.
Unfinished Business:
- The Board of Selectmen accepted the proposed Cable budget.
- Donna said that at this time she does not intend to resign her job as Station Manager.
- We reviewed the current copy of a warrant article and decided it would need revision. Nancy Wrigley said she would check to obtain the correct figures and get back to the committee.
- The committee agreed that the inventory is correct and that it can now be filed.
- Ron Lemere proposed that a fan be installed to exchange the air in the cable room to alleviate the heat problem that occurs in the hot weather.
New Business:
- When broadcasting live events there is an ongoing problem with the audio. It is not loud enough to be heard by viewers of channel 20. After discussion it was decided that Donna would contact Access Video to seek consultation to resolve the issue. She will report back with their recommendation and /or their service charge for an onsite visit.
- Marilyn Landry volunteered to become a cable committee member. Diane will write a recommendation to the Selectmen. Diane will ask that she be accepted for a one year term ending on April 15, 2014.
Other:
Mary W asked Marilyn to look into finding new tables for the upstairs in the Town Hall. The ones that are there presently are very well used.
