  NEWTON CABLE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

CALL TO ORDER:  5:37p.m.
Roll Call:      Diane Morin, Chairman; Mary Winglass, Public       Relations/Programmer, Sally Woodman, Secretary;
        Mary Marshall, Production Manager, Donna Judge, Operator

Minutes from Previous Meeting of February 15, 2012: Mary W motioned to accept the minutes as written. Mary M seconded and the minutes were unanimously accepted as written.

Budget: Reviewed the budget from the Town Report.

Correspondence and Communications: None

Review Programing Schedule:

Upcoming Events: The BOS announced that it will be organizing the Memorial Day Parade this year. Donna will email Scott DePanfilis and David Koles to see if they will be available to film the parade as soon as a date has been selected.

Unfinished Business:
  • After some discussion concerning whether or not the system in the cable room is connected to the backup generator Donna will call Diane to meet and troubleshoot the problem at a mutually agreeable time.
  • The revised Retention Policy was signed by the committee members and Mary W. will give it to the Selectmen to sign.
  • Donna briefly described a problem with the cable pc when it reboots.  The software program, Filezilla, is asking for a password that is not known.  Donna uninstalled the software.
  • Mary W motioned to authorize Diane and Donna to be the administrators for the Cable PC. Mary M 2nd the motion which carried unanimously.
  • The monies from Comcast will be researched.
New Business:
  • Donna will check on the availabilities of the operators in light of their new jobs. It was decided by the committee to advertise for another operator from the local high school to fill the gaps in coverage.
  • Due to a lack of funds we will not be able to purchase a new Nexus.
  • Scott has stated that he will continue working on the slide presentations.
Other:  Mary Marshall announced that she will not seek reinstatement to the cable committee. We thank her for her many contributions and she will be greatly missed.
