CABLE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
DATE: May 18, 2011
PLACE: Town Meeting Hall
TIME: 5:30p.m.
CALL TO ORDER: 5:40
Roll Call: Diane Morin, Chairman; Mary Winglass, Public Relations/Programmer, Sally Woodman, Secretary;
Sue Godin, operator/cable member
Minutes from Previous Meeting of May 4, 2011:
- Mary W motioned to accept the minutes as written. Sue seconded and it passed unanimously.
Budget:
Correspondence and Communications:
- Two slides need to be created. One is information about the Memorial Parade and the second is advertising for a new cable operator.
Upcoming Events:
- The planning board has asked to televise it’s next meeting on May 24th.
- The Historical Society is presenting a speaker on May 25th and wishes to have it televised.
- The Memorial Parade was discussed. Mary W informed the board that Bob Donovan will drop off the risers needed for filming. Sue, Diane, Tavish and Sally will pick up the equipment needed for the televising. Mary W said that Cheryl and Ron Saunders will supply the electrical hookup needed and will let us use their land to film the parade from. They will also loan their truck for the filming. The Police Department will supply the generator.
Unfinished Business:
- Mary W put together a packet for the selectmen and the cable committee containing information dealing with the franchise renewal. We reviewed the information in the packet. We made a few changes and accepted a finalized packet.
New Business:
- Mary W will place an advertisement in the papers for a cable operator.
- We have tentatively scheduled a meeting with the selectmen to discuss the Franchise Renewal with Comcast.
