December 19, 2006

I.      Call to order:  Chairman McElroy called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm.
II.     Roll Call:
In attendance were Chairman Tom McElroy, Vice-Chairman Alan French, Dana Allison, Bradley Cardoso, Jack Kozec and Alternate Charles Melvin.  Absent: Alternate Ken Pelletier.  Minutes transcribed and typed by Secretary Jeannette Clark.
III.    Acceptance of Minutes:
A motion was made by Mr Kozec  to accept the minutes of the meeting of November 21, 2006, as written.  Second by Mr Cardoso.  Motion carries.
IV.     Old Business:
A.      Review of letter sent by Attorney Sharon Somers from DTC attorneys concerning “Ned Nichols and White Fence Development Corp. v. Town of Newton and Zoning Board of Adjustment and Coleman McDonough & C.P. McDonough Construction Corporation”.  It appears that the matter has been settled.
B.      Review of the 2006 Budget dated December 7, 2006.  Questions as to what happens to the surplus… It was decided that, after Attorney fees, there would most probably be no surplus.
V.      New Business:
A.      There will be a Public Hearing next month.  A Hearing for Nancy Cheney, being represented by the Office of Sumner Kalman, seeking a variance for the construction of a single family home 25 feet from the wetland setback rather than the 50 feet required by zoning.
B.      Selectmen’s Meeting Schedule
C.      Schedule for 2007 for the Zoning Board of Appeals.
VI.     Adjournment:
A motion was made at 7:40 PM by Mr Kozec to adjourn.  Second by Mr French.  Motion carries.
Next meeting to be January 16, 2007 at 7:30 PM.
