Public Safety Site Selection Committee

Meeting Summary
- Members present: Bob Connors, CPC, Tracy Blais, TA, Linda Allen, attending, Lt. John Lucy, on behalf of Chief Reilly and Chuck Bear, Selectman
- The committee’s first order of business, elect a chairman. Bob Connors was unanimously voted chair. Connors presented each member with a copy of the “Newbury Police Department Memo” outlining the current conditions of the existing station provided by the Newbury Capital Planning Committee.
- After discussion, the committee has taken the NPD memo under advisement, each member was asked to consider/recommend potential sites to locate a new Police facility or combined public safety complex and report back with additional recommendations at the next regular meeting.

2. Town Administrator’s report:
- Tracy Blais updated the committee on the Board of Selectmen’s action to form the committee.
- Members: Tracy Blais, TA, Bob Connors, CPC, Mike Bulgaris ,Selectman, Chief Michael Reilly and Linda Allen are voting members, Martha Taylor, Town Planner & Sam Joslin, Building Commissioner serve non-voting ex offico members;
- Term: The committee was formed effective June 12, 2012 and will conclude on June 30, 2013. .
- Mission: To review all available sites/options for locating a new police station and/or public safety complex and report back to the Board of Selectmen with its recommendations.
