OLD /CONTINUING BUSINESS
- Channing is continuing to work on getting the commission access to the 1635 website.
- A suggestion was made to talk about a Plaque for the School House in Chris’ memory in the near future.
- We need to have multiple storage places: CD’s-Schoolhouse; Website person; Town Hall.
- We still need new members.
NEW BUSINESS
- School House: remove bathroom fixtures. We will need boards to cover the holes from the toilets once they are removed.
- Keys for the Cabinets in the Library. A set was given to Amy, head librarian, along with a list of current HC members.
- Donation of Picture of the Coffin house taken in 1881, from Russ Arvidson. He requested a card be displayed with the photo noting it was “donated by the Arvidson Family in memory of David
C. Arvidson of Norwood, Massachusetts”. Jan replied to Mr. Arvidson’s e-mail to thank him for his donation and extended an invitation to visit the School House. The picture was delivered to Town Hall.
- Nancy researched the costs for archival tubes and tape for the aerial maps. The tubes are 3” in diameter and 4 feet long. The package of 10 is $161. Nancy was given the OK by the commission to purchase the tubes and tape.
- Nancy had brochures made for the School House and copies of the Map (Chris was working on).
- Four (4) Maps still need to be scanned and transferred to disk.
- Nancy will order a solar light for the flagpole. Ok given by the commission.
- Jan has procured a file cabinet for storage. We will adjourn early to take it to the School House.
DISCUSSIONS:
- No meetings, unless necessary for DDB emergency, until September.
- Ice Cream social will be held on 8/13 at 6:30. Jan will send out request for food & supplies. This will be a good time to discuss a memorial for Chris.
- 1635 website – Channing’s friend, Brandon captured all the information from the existing website on a “thumb” drive. We are setting up a new account on Yahoo business site. Lon asked to get the funding information and set up a payment schedule. Channing is to check to see if Brandon can write a protocol for HC access to add items to the site,
- A circa 1765 House on the market (35 Main Street), is listed as a possible demo. Jan was able to trace it back to 1837 so far. Pictures of the house from the Real estate website do not show much left of historical/period features.
- We need to get information on restoring the map in the school house.
