Board of Selectmen's Meeting MInutes 7/19/10
BOARD OF SELECTMEN’S MEETING
JULY 19, 2010

Chairman Story called the meeting to order at 10 a.m. on a motion by Selectman Walker, seconded by Selectman Bulgaris with the pledge of allegiance to our flag.    Present were Selectmen Story, Bulgaris, Bear, Walker, Town Administrator Chuck Kostro and Town Counsel Tony Penski.    Selectman Keller was absent.

Building Inspector Sam Joslin gave a brief synopsis of the circumstances surrounding his request for removal of an unsafe structure at 5-38th Street on Plum Island.   The new property owners had been allowed to board up the premises until their application process for a new structure was completed, but recent complaints have prompted the removal order.    While it is a little ahead of schedule, the owners understand.    The proposed new structure has been approved by ZBA and an amended notice has been filed with ConCom which should satisfy DEP.    It was moved by Selectman Bear, seconded by Selectman Bulgaris and after a brief discussion voted in accordance with Section 5121.3 of 780 CMR (Mass State Building Code) to order the structure razed, as it poses a public safety hazard.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:08 a.m. on a motion by Selectman Bulgaris, seconded by Selectman Bear and voted.

Respectfully submitted,

Kathleen Sirois
Administrative Assistant
